It’s really important that your newborn baby and you are included in your newborn photographs
Here at Village Photography, capturing precious photographs of your newborn baby is a pure joy for me, I love seeing how 1st time parents look at their newborn baby with so much love and affection, and how siblings just dote on their new little brother or sister. Weather you’re starting your family or completing your family every shoot is different and as equally important to me.
It’s really important that parents take part, your baby won’t stay this little for very long so we have a very small amount of time to capture you with your baby, I know and understand that you may have had a sleepless night, have struggled to find cloths that fit your baby as they are between sizes or maybe you yourself are just not feeling up to. But this could be your only chance of having your photograph taken with your newly born baby.
So let’s try and run through how we run our Newborn Baby Mini Sessions and hopefully put your mind at rest, so that you and your husband will love joining in.
I always do parents shots first, so that if your baby is not quiet settled, being held in mam’s or dads arms normally has the required effect. I try and a few different poses, Mam holding Baby, Dad holding Baby, mam and dad looking at baby and then a close up of baby in Mam & Dads Hands. And then a couple of mam and baby, and then, dad and baby on their own.
Don’t worry I normally shoot from the waist upwards and images are converted to Black & White to give a timeless and classic feel.
Of course if you don’t want your face in your babies images that perfectly fine and we understand.
Times have changed and I look back to when I was a baby and this type of photography wasn’t available back then, I don’t have any photographs of myself with my parents, so please don’t think these images are for you, they are for your baby so that in years to come, when they pull the old biscuit tin of photographs out of the cupboard they will have some beautiful images of yourselves as new parents.
As a photographer making memories is so important and precious to me, imagine what would those photographs mean to you? Can you imagine showing your children and grandchildren what you and their parents looked when you were born? Precious & Priceless!
I would love to have been able to show you a photograph of myself with my mam & Dad but unfortunately I don’t have one, I’ve gone through the old biscuit tins loads of times hoping I had missed one but sadly not.
So this is why it’s so important that you take part in your baby’s new born shoot! Even if its just your hands!
Now of course like ourselves babies have their off days and it can all go a bit haywire, baby coughs, sneezes, is sick, fills there nappy and then cry, but don’t worry we will get through it, please remember to bring a change of outfit for after the sick!
I’m hoping I’ve convinced you and hoping you have changed your mind but if not don’t worry even if we can just use your hands as soothers, your still in the image!!
You can of course include grandparents and your family dog in this shoot too!
