Family Portrait Experience – Life After Lockdown
Well, what a crazy time it’s been, and if I’m honest I don’t think we are through it yet. Who would have thought in 2020 we would be in a global pandemic that caused the UK, and the world, to be in lockdown. Lockdown just seems like a word you would hear in a movie doesn’t it? As restrictions continue to ease and more businesses are able to open their doors again, we are now able to try and get back some normality here at Village Photography.
Life After Lockdown – the positives
Although the last few months have been very challenging for us all in different ways, lots of us took the opportunity with the good weather to tackle the overgrown gardens, replace the garden fence and paint the shed, do a bit of decorating, even update our websites!
The biggest positive we are all taking away with us I think is having more quality time with our families.
I have spent far more time with my parents at home. And due to their age and my dad shielding it was up to me to do the shopping! No point my mam giving me a shopping list I just got what I thought we needed.
The Down Side
The down side, not being able to visit a very dear Aunty who had Alzhimers and was in a care home, Aunty Mary sadly passed away during lockdown, she fought to the end, but with only limited numbers allowed at her funeral, it meant we couldn’t give her the big send-off she deserved. I have missed seeing as much of my brother & sister-in-law & and their two daughters (my nieces) and close friends outside of our home.
Grandparents not being able to cuddle their grandkids, us grown-ups not being able to have a hug from a parent or a friend, I’m a hugger, and I’ve really missed hugs from friends.
With everything that’s been going on there is no better time than now to get your family together and update your Family Portrait.
Recording this time in your family history to be passed on to your future generations, remembering the bizarre year that is 2020. Our studio is Covid Safe and we are following all current government guidelines.

We have a few images on this page from one of our family shoots that we have completed since reopening. Paul, Jen & Their Boys came into our studio as part of our “Photographers Supporting Our NHS” fundraiser, we raised £870 which was donated to The NHS Covid- 19 Fund.
